How a Dreadnought Guitar is Different from Other Guitars
July 28, 2010 No CommentsThe standard style of large, six string guitar used in country music, as well as other styles of music is called a dreadnought.
Other larger guitars used to play country music are called jumbos and often have a curvier rounded body. You’ll also find basic acoustic guitars in smaller sizes.
Smaller guitars designed primarily for children are sometimes called half or three-quarter guitars to signify their size. Travel or back-packer guitars are also smaller dimension instruments.
